Monkeypox(MPX) is an acute zoonotic infectious disease caused by Monkeypox Virus(MPXV). As early as 1958, a poxvirus was discovered in experimental macaques that caused a disease similar to Variola virus in humans, known as monkeypox. The virus is also named monkeypox virus. Monkeypox virus is mainly distributed in tropical rain forests of Central and West Africa. In 1970, the first case of human infection with monkeypox was reported in the Zaire region. Since then, outbreaks have been reported in many countries and regions, which has aroused great concern.
Intended use:
The TianLong Monkeypox Virus Nucleic Acid Detection Kit is intended for the qualitative detection of Monkeypox virus nucleic acid by Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (Real-time PCR) method.
Results from the test are for the identification of DNA from Monkeypox virus existence in samples tested. The Monkeypox virus DNA is mostly often detectable in oropharyngeal swab samples, vesicular or pustular lesion fluid and diseased tissue samples collected during the acute phase ofinfection.
