Diarrhoeal disease is one of the leading causes of illness and death among children under five years of age, especially in low-income countries, killing more than half a million people globally each year. Rotavirus is proven to be a major cause of diarrhea in infants under 5 years of age worldwide, as well as in many mammals and birds.
Intended use:
The TianLong Rotavirus Universal RNA Detection Kit is intended for the qualitative detection of Rotavirus by Real-time Reverse Chain Reaction (Real-time PCR) method.
The test is designed to detect RNA from Rotavirus in specimens such as rectal swabs or stool samples collected from individual personnel based on clinical and/or epidemiological criteria. The potential candidate personnel to be tested could include, but are not limited to patients with symptoms of infection who are suspected of Rotavirus by healthcare providers, or persons with no symptoms from a population for screening test confirmation or exclusion of viral infection or viral carriage status.
